Maturing in Christ

As a parent we recognize the various stages of life our children go through. First their is the newborn, totally dependent on us, then the young child, filled with passion and enthusiasm. After that comes the older child, a bit more externally focused but still keen to please parents.

Then out of the blue, as the child becomes a young adult with ideas and passions, the rebellious teenage years. As young adults they begin to settle down and find their purpose and passion in life. After that children and their most productive years. Thereafter middle age and grand-parenting and finally the later years with rest from labor and striving.

There is the same cycle as a Christian. We are born again, of Spirit, and filled with the revelation of a whole new dimension, new thought processes, new perspective and revelations. At first we know nothing but are caught up in the Spirit. Everything is new and exciting. We attend church regularly, partake of as many activities as we can, receiving blessing after blessing. Many Christians live for this feeling alone and fall away when the season of young love begins to pass. They never move on from self focus and being fed to wanting to do something for others. Their faith is stifled because it never translates into outward action.

Others press in and as their understanding increases they begin to share their experiences and to evangelize those around them. With faith in action, gifts start to mature and with that comes the discernment of things never noticed before in the church… the carnal, the unrighteous and even evil intent of those that linger within Christianity. There is the crusty and cynical older brethren (who have done it and seen it and invariably know it all), the so called prophet’s and prophetess’s (whose sole purpose seems to curse others, especially the church leadership, under the guise of discernment), the self promoting ‘movers and shakers’ whose intent is to get into position’s of influence and leadership through their natural wealth or skills and then those that just have evil intent to break down the church and others in some way.

It’s a dangerous season because the devil also starts to take notice of you and will move others against you or will attempt to use your immaturity and work through you, against others. (Never forget, making mistakes is part of maturing spiritually). If your church leaders are mature they will be able to channel your passion and emerging gifts and discernment, help you realize your calling and direct you forward, so as to be an asset to the church and the Body of Christ. If however, as is often the case, they rise up against you or take offense because of their own carnality, they will marginalize or rebuke you in some way which will cause pain.

At this point one can humble oneself and repent before the leadership or leave and find another fellowship that can hopefully harness for good that which God is doing in or revealing to you. Sadly most church leaders only recognize their own authority and ministry as God’s authority in the church and they suppress any other gifts or ministry, which is considered a threat. For this reason there are very few active prophets and apostles, few evangelists and fewer teachers and why church’s never move in real power.

Many will leave and wander from church to church become increasingly discontent, feeling they know more than church leaders. The offense is realized when they begin to speak against the church leaders, which is in fact cursing and in so doing become a tool of the devil (like a rebellious teenager, they exercise spiritual rebellion) Others will simply withdraw from contributing and become pew warmers. Many, many Christians don’t move on from this place; they just stop maturing and and that is where their faith remains. They never move on to the fullness of their calling in Christ. God is not really interested if you are correct at this time, He is interested in how you respond to the situation when others reject your discernment or gifting? The response should be humbling oneself, intercession for that leadership, finding small ways to impact lives outside of the church and maturing their gifts further. In due season God will raise up those that are humble and patient. If one can just hold on, be submissive in spite of the rebuke or offense, God can turn it out for good for all – even for the carnal leadership.

Beyond this is the stage of blessing and increase. Christians who have become humble, who do not take offense on behalf of the Cross, who do not judge others but are rather a blessing in the face adversity, have learnt to wait on the Lord to move instead of acting and expecting God to follow…. these are mature Christians who can receive favor, increase, authority and position without being corrupted, without lifting up the self.

There are so few current Church leaders, especially those within the latest response to God’s outpouring (the Charismatics) that have reached this station of authority by going through this ‘4 soils’ schooling of the Holy Spirit . They have short circuited this process in some way and the evidence is clear for all to see. The leadership is in many ways an offense to God.

Thankfully God has been preparing the leadership for the next revival that is coming soon. They have been refined, rejected and have wandered through the desert without purpose or direction. The time is coming soon for these leaders to rise out up out of obscurity and bring forth the greatest revival since the days of the apostles. Their only danger is that of pride. Pride that might come through such great manifestations of the Holy Spirit. I hope not.

And here’s hoping those that have led the previous responses to God’s outpouring will become intercessors for the work instead of judges and accusers as has always happened in the past.

Recognizing False Doctrine

One can always tell when the Church has yielded to a false and demonic doctrine. There is invariably;

– the rejection of scripture in part or some significant way,
– the compromise in morality and
– the proclamation of it’s truth because the majority of people believe it.

The majority are always deceived, so let us rather focus on the decline in morality and distortion of doctrine that accompanies these deceptions.

Take for example the doctrine of God supposedly opening the door for Zionists to occupy modern day Israel. If we look past the controlled media and earnestly study that which has been taking place in the region, it becomes very clear, very quickly, that the Zionists have not only been the initiators of violence in almost every instance together with the death and displacement of Muslims, but they have also been directly responsible for the displacement and death of Christians as well.

Jews, Muslims and Christians previously lived in harmony in the land before Zionism gained authority. To this day Christians clergy are routinely spat on in public in Israel and evangelical Churches have been bombed by radical Jews. Somehow Christians overlook the glaringly obvious manifestations of evil, even to the ongoing rejection of Christ, by yielding to this false doctrine. Many Christians have become accustomed to seeing Muslims as the enemy rather than a lost people that need salvation. Zionist hatred of Muslims has filtered through to the Body of Christ without a thought for the evil that is being adopted.

Christians are choosing to be partial, respecters of people rather than Spirit led, discerning and compassionate. Of course we know the Jews will be restored at the end of this age (when they reject the demonic yoke of Zionism and embrace Christ) but they will be restored to the Body of Christ and the heavenly Jerusalem.
I wish Christians were all as Jesus was in:

Matthew 12:46-50 “Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.”

Jesus considered that even his own mother after the flesh was not worthy of any special station, except that which was based on her relationship with the Father. Yet now many hold the Jews after the flesh above Christians and even before the name and will of Jesus himself; suggesting that those after the old covenant which was rejected are somehow more beloved than those who are in Christ.

So often the distortions of scripture are obvious to all, yet someone blindness remains. Take the favorite scripture in this instance:

Genesis 13:15 For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

It’s interesting that this scripture is used as a confirmation that the Jews are entitled to the land in Palestine. Never mind that the promise was conditional on obedience to the Lord, of which they still resist to this day, but the Jews have spend 450 years less in Israel than they have out of it, since the promise was given. That alone makes the scriptural reference foolishness – except to the willfully deceived.

The reality is that the land was important because God’s temple was in Jerusalem and it was the place where God came down to meet with His people. When Jesus Christ fulfilled the old covenant and ushered in the new, that brought an end to the old covenant. Israel and Jerusalem after the natural became irrelevant in God’s eyes.

Galatians 4:25 For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children. But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Jesus confirmed these changes in John 4:21-24; Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

And Paul reminds us of this change in Romans 2:28-29

For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

But the blind will lead the blind and to this day we have an entrenched Christian doctrine that opposes the Bible, the words of the prophets, Christ and the authors of the new testament. People are bound in spirit and cannot see the truth, seemingly more happy to see a million Muslim deaths in defense of the land in bondage to Satan and in defense of those that oppose the Cross. Who could believe that Spirit filled Christians could behave in such a manner and declare it to be the will of God.

So the question is…… what doctrines are you holding onto that force you to ignore or distort the scriptures. What teachings are you embracing because the ‘majority’ believe and what moral standards have you accepted that deny the fullness of the love of Christ and oppose the convictions of the Holy Spirit?

Overcoming Trial

Galatians 5:25; If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Romans 8:1; There is therefore no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

If you go into almost any Spirit filled church today and the speaker says “raise your hands if you need prayer”, the chances are a large majority of people will put their hands up. Many will have very pressing and serious needs that are not being met. Others will be discouraged, afflicted, financial oppressed, heartbroken, etc.

In many instances, the Body of Christ is worse off than those of this world.

The main reason for this is that Christians have forgotten they are in a spiritual battle. We are accused day and night before God because we are judged in this time, and not in that time to come. So every time we yield to the temptation of the flesh, we bring ourselves back under the law where we can come under legitimate attack and condemnation.

Galatians 5:16-24 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

What is the secret to walking in the Spirit? It is spending time with God in prayer and the Word. One thing is 100% certain and that is if a Christian is going through real hardship and damaging trial (not that which God allows to refine us to a higher level), we can be assure that their prayer life is not where it needs to be. If you are facing a such a trial now, you need to spend more time with God. How much is enough time? Are you praying an hour a day, 2hrs, 3hrs? Are you fasting? Have you taken leave from work and fasted and prayed unceasingly for a week or more for revelation or breakthrough?

Because if something is so afflicting and traumatic, it requires a supreme amount of intervention to get the breakthrough. You need to move something in the spiritual realm so the change can manifest in the natural. Every breakthrough has got to start with a spiritual victory. Natural efforts alone are doomed to failure. “shake heaven and the earth will move out of its place.”

Here are a few tips for breakthrough in prayer.

1. Always ask God to convict you what you are doing wrong? Sometimes bondages (those of our own or from our forefathers) are hard to discern because they are part of our character. In this regard a 3 day water / juice fast is very beneficial
2. Ask God what the cause of the trial is. Sometimes the symptom is far removed from the cause. Dealing with symptoms (such as sickness or loneliness) is a waste of time. Press in and pray until you start to receive conviction of the cause.
3. Getting revelation of sin / the cause of our distress must automatically lead to repentance and renouncing of related sin or behavior /actions/ thoughts.
4. Prevail in prayer and ask God to remove the effects of those past works, not only for yourself but for others that have been afflicted by this.
5. Ask God to establish a new way forward and give you the strength not to succumb to the same temptations again. (the devil will earnestly seek to re-establish his authority in this regard)
6. Stop complaining and talking about your troubles. It afflicts others and you are in fact prophesying and establishing the same affliction further into your future. Rather prophesy and declare the things you seek to happen and the changes you are trusting God for. After all, “God establishes the words of his servants”
7. Forgive others to the level you want God to forgive you. If you cannot pray blessing onto those that have harmed you, you are still in bondage and dare not expect anything from God. Prayer for those that have harmed you until you have the love of Christ for them. Only then have you really forgiven and being set free from your own bondage of un-forgiveness and bitterness. Anything else is delusion.

A prevailing issue for Christians is that we measure sin and determine who is more at fault in a matter. If you are suffering or afflicted, you need to deal with your own issues and not worry about the other person. If you are only 1% at fault, deal with that 1% and receive your breakthrough. Get yourself back in line with the Spirit and you will see breakthrough. If you get this right you will not need someone else to pray breakthrough into your life; you will be living in Spirit and establishing perpetual breakthrough.

The big questions are…..
Are you desperate enough and willing enough to sacrifice enough time and effort to hear directly from the Holy Spirit?
Are you humble enough to take stock of the state of your heart and make changes?
Will you persist no matter what you are feeling, thinking or being told by others?

Most of us aren’t and that’s why we need others to step in and pray for us. But is really is a very poor 2nd choice.

Christianity Captivity at Hand

The Christian church is divided into 2 groups – the righteous and the ungodly.

1 Peter 5:18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

The Old Testament parallel for the church split is the divided nations of Israel and Judah. Israel was carnal and behaved in a ungodly manner from the beginning, whilst Judah was generally more righteous, serving God. (although it too had seasons of rebellion and ultimately followed the ways of Israel)

At this point in history we are in the parallel OT times of the kings of Ahaz (Judah) and Hoshea (Israel). Ahaz is the Charismatic church movement (the manifested response to the most recent outpouring of God’s Holy Spirit) and Hoshea represents every Church that has resisted this latest move of God. Churches from every denomination fall into either of these two group based on their receptiveness to the Holy Spirit – God’s Spirit is not bound by man’s natural barriers (denominations), but it is by the state of the heart, especially that of the spiritual leaders of a fellowship. (Those churches that resists and yoke themselves unto men or the old works of God are like old wine skins that cannot receive of the new outpouring of God – this is why you never see a new revival burst forth in existing denominations. If they were fully submissive to the Spirit of God, there would be no need for a new outpouring)

At this very time the king of Assyria has started the process of bringing Israel into bondage, ultimately sending carnal Christian’s into permanent captivity. That means the majority of believers are about to go into spiritual slavery, never to return, much like the nation of Israel in 722 BC. The great falling away is just ahead.

Assyria represents the world power of this age and is the 3rd beast as prophesied by Daniel. In this age this beast manifests as capitalism (as opposed to free trade, capitalism is essentially enslaving others through financial might) and is also the power behind democracy. Democracy is simply the tool used by capitalists to convince the people they have power, whereas in reality they have none. Those with real power, financial might, simply;

– ensure that the chosen people are presented as the candidates for public service;
– direct their media mouthpiece to convince the people of what issues must be debated and which decisions must be made;
– manufacture events that convince the people to act and vote in a certain direction;
– manipulate vote counting as an outcome when required.
(should any ‘non-preferred’ leader gain selection, they will be continually opposed, marginalized and even disposed of)

In the season ahead, the system of capitalism will start to assume authority over the carnal church. If anyone is in doubt in this regard they need only look at recent events in the Vatican where the latest pope, Pope Francis has literally opened the doors of the Catholic church to every possible Capitalist entity to audit the books and the church as a whole. I have no doubt globalist capitalist entities will fleece the catholic church of all its assets and spiritual power in time, but not without a short lived rebellion as evidenced by the rebellion of King Hoshea.

In future carnal Christians will no longer be led of the Lord or the ideals of the Lord, but:
– they will be motivated and moved by the desire for self gain, even at the expense of others,
– success will be defined as natural gain and increase as opposed to spiritual;
– democracy will increase within these churches, deposing the anointed and appointed of God
– Association with other religions will increase as they desire a unity out of the Spirit
– doctrines of devils will abound and the carnal church will increasingly mirror the fallen world.
– Much of the church will become irrelevant to God.

Thankfully, in God’s mercy, Assyria will not overcome the Spirit filled church, but not for a lack of trying. A new revival will come upon those that continue to seek the Lord. The excesses and corruption of the Charismatic movement will be rejected and a hunger for righteousness will lead to the most powerful revival (Hezekiah) since the days of the Apostles (Solomon).

Now is the time to draw close to God. There will come a time where living a carnal and compromised Christian faith will have grave consequences. Now is the time to recommit to God without compromise. Those that don’t will succumb to the beast of this age and will not even see their downfall coming.

Wikileaks

The Christian faith is all about truth.

John 14:6 – Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 16:13 – Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come

John 8:32 – And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

So how is it then that Christians are still defending Donald Trump in spite of the fact that he now obviously the greatest liar that has ever filled the president’s office?

Lets accept that we were duped when he said he would cease wars around the world. He is actively supporting military action in several countries which is directly resulting in the death of civilians, he is supporting terrorists who are killing Christians, he has bombed Syria, he is demanding more spending on the military and has stirred up animosity with North Korea.

But of all things Donald Trump has done an about turn on, the renewed effort to terminate Wikileaks, is no doubt one of his greatest evils. Here is an organisation that has repeatedly exposed the evil intent of wicked people and governments around the world, an organisation that has a history of 100% honesty and accuracy in its reporting and which is apparently now a threat to the United States??? The United States used to stand for truth and justice. It was a country that other nations admired and respected. Now it is threatened by truth?

The same intelligence organisations that are so intent on destroying Wikileaks have been caught selling weapons to terrorists, supplying drugs into the USA, overthrown numerous countries, killed countless people, subverted justice and truth, corrupted the media and lied to Congress and the public at almost every opportunity. How do Christians simply accept their attempts to suppress the truth? Where is the Christian outcry and demand for justice in this instance?

Christianity is going to be judged in the future, this is very clear from the scriptures. What is not so clear is why we fall short and come into judgement. I have no doubt that choosing to no longer stand up for righteousness, for justice and for truth will contribute to the coming judgement and falling away.

Wikileaks is one of the very few organisations that does not supply false NWO misinformation to corrupt and mislead society and Christians should be praying and fighting to keep this information source available. Ordinary people who become aware of crime, deception, lies, abuse and injustice use this unique outlet to expose evil without being murdered, fired from their employment, ostracized or ridiculed. Christians should recognize this avenue of justice and get their support behind it.

John the Baptist criticized the evil leaders of the day and paid for it with his life. Jesus opposed the evil rulers in his day and paid with his life. History is full of Christians who have opposed evil authorities at great cost. Is there an American pastor or church leader that could stand up for truth this weekend? Perhaps donate the week’s taking to supporting truth? Is there any such church leader in the USA?

I doubt it. But individual Christians need to stand up for truth and defend it. At the very least we can pray for truth to prevail and overcome the evil of this age. After all, faith without works is dead. If we don’t, truth will be lost and next time it may be our truth that is lost.

Spiritual Warfare

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
We are strong in the Lord, when we are weak in the flesh. When we choose to not act in the flesh we allow the Holy Spirit to manifest through us in wisdom, knowledge, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues and interpretation of tongues through us – 1 Corin 12:7-11. When we yield and allow the Holy Spirit the authority to manifest through us, He overcomes the works of the devil.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
The devil has no power of his own, but he tempts us to act in the flesh or yield our authority to him so that he can resist the efforts of the Holy Spirit through us. We are the only resistance to the Holy Spirit; either through our yielding of authority to the devil or succumbing to temptation and acting in the flesh. This the only battle we need to focus on for the Holy Spirit to be victorious. The following scriptures of warfare in Ephesians 6 advise us how to facilitate this:

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Anything we do out of our own strength is a waste of time. Flesh cannot fight and overcome in the spiritual realm and real victories only come when when we achieve spiritual breakthrough. When God has authority through us he stirs us up to act and move something in the spiritual realm first, after which the breakthrough will manifest in the natural. Isaiah 13:13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place….

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Our role in this battle is to withstand and resist the devil

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth,
To resist the devil we firstly need to be walking in truth. Truth comes through the ministry of the Holy Spirit. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth. In other words we need to be in fellowship with God through the Holy Spirit. When in fellowship we rightly hear His voice and are led of Him, walking in truth.

and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
Righteousness means ‘being right with God’. If God is convicting us of sin or of action, we need to respond. If it is sin, we need to repent, renounce, turn from that which God convicts us of. If God is convicting us to act or say something we need to respond in faith. The Spirit of God may be bringing the spiritual victory but he does it through the Body of Christ. Often a simple act of obedience from us is all it takes to allow God to bring a breakthrough.

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
The motivation for our journey into battle is to share the gospel message of Jesus Christ; his dying for our sins so that we can have eternal life. We do not share the gospel so that we can build a ministry / get an income / gain authority / gain preeminence. To have any personal motivation makes us ineffective and a hindrance to the Spirit of God working effectively and powerfully through us. Assess carefully the motivation for any works for the Lord. Are we led of the Spirit or led of the flesh.

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
Faith is the elixir of the Christian walk. But faith comes through spiritual maturity and spiritual maturity comes through the making of our testimony which comes through yielding to God, which is possible as we get to know Him (through prayer and the Word). So if you want the shield of faith to be in place, spend time with God in the Word and in prayer. Your will get to discern His voice which will allow you to be led on a journey of faith, which will establish a testimony, which will in turn allow you to act in faith in the future. In this way we overcome the works of the devil. Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony;

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the
Let us not grow weary in this battle ‘for the end of our faith is the hope of salvation’. We are shaping the eternal destiny of others as we resist the devil and we should always bear this in mind as we labor in love. 2 Timothy 2 :10 Therefore I endure all things for the elect’s sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
The word of God is the written word, but Christ was also the Word made manifest. If God brings a word to remembrance or gives us a spoken word, we need to respond and act / speak it out in faith. We are made in the image of God and God spoke things into existence. We therefore can establish the will of God by speaking out the things he convicts us to say – be this in prayer, intercession, prophecy or proclamation. God establishes the words of his servants. Isaiah 44:26 That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers;

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Don’t pray in the flesh which is ineffective and without direction. If you are looking for breakthrough through prayer, hold no hardness in your heart towards anyone and forgive those that have harmed you. (If you have any bitterness in your heart towards any person, begin to intercede for them until you only have love for them. Once you have this, you are in a place to have powerful prayers). Thereafter draw close to God, shed all fear and anxiousness and pray as the Spirit leads, prevailing until the victory is established. James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Sometimes fasting is required to fully led of the Lord in the matter at hand.

Faith Without Works is Dead

James 2:17-18 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

What is God stirring you up to do at this very moment in time? What are you doing for the Kingdom of God? If you are doing nothing for the Lord, you need to ask yourself are you really under the authority of the Holy Spirit? Are you really in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ?

The Spirit of God gives each one of us gifts to empower us in the spiritual realm, fruit to manifest the goodness of Christ and a ministry to establish his Kingdom in some way. That is just the way it is… The Holy Spirit will continually move each one of us to pray for, minister to or help others, daily. And if not, we deceive ourselves by thinking we are Christians.

We are then like the servant in Matthew 25 who hid his talent when he was too afraid to respond to the leading of the Lord.

Matthew 25:26-30 His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Each day there are people departing to hell for all eternity and we are the antidote. We, the Church, are the only solution God has in place to stop this separation from abundant life. Yet some of us are worried that we might be rejected, that somebody might take offense, or that we are too busy…! There is no excuse; we are all called to do some works by the Holy Spirit. It may be the simplest of things; an act of kindness, a support to others, a powerful ministry or persistent, daily prayer… but our faith, if it is indeed alive, will be demanding something of us daily.

If you don’t have a sense of what to do, then you are too far away from the Lord to hear Him. Give up the social media, the television, the making of money and doing of business, the shopping and the pursuit of happiness. Spend some time in fasting, prayer and in the Word. Eventually it will come ever so clearly. God will move you and in so doing you will find your real purpose in life; your true happiness.

Don’t quench the Spirit by rejecting His advances. Don’t resist acting out in faith.

Prophetic Cursing

Do you know who the greatest threat to church leaders is? Its the false prophets. By false I don’t mean people who are not prophets, I mean real prophets that are being used by the devil.

Ezekiel 22:28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken.

Jeremiah 23:30 Therefore, behold, I am against the prophets, saith the LORD, that steal my words every one from his neighbour.

Prophets are mature Christians, the have walked in the Spirit and been led of the Spirit. Yet somehow, like the Prophet Balaam they have turned astray, gone after money or the desire for position, power and relevance. Where they once waited on the Lord, received revelation and then interceded or gave a word of revelation; now, they now have become a tool of judgement. Where they once received a word from the Lord, they now receive it from others.

As they discern a weakness in the pastor or leader, either present or about to come, or they hear a word from another, what do they do? They fast and intercede, crying out for God’s intervention and mercy….? No! They speak it out, discuss it with the carnal, prophecy it and in so doing establish the very thing the devil is trying to bring forth. As the curse of their words and actions takes effect and the weakness becomes more evident, the prophet laments; “I warned that this was taking place” not realizing they have effectively hastened it to come to pass. The actions and words of these prophet are no longer tempered by the Spirit of God, but by the need for recognition, spiritual importance and relevance.

The devil loves to use those within the Body to break down the Body. It is the most effective means to bring about destruction “A house divided shall not stand.” And when the pastor or leader falls it affects the whole body of believers.

Its time for the prophets of the Body of Christ to regain their spiritual focus and purpose. Intercession, fasting and repenting for their leaders whom are under ongoing spiritual attack because of their headship role. And this is relevant not only to leaders of a fellowship; this is relevant for the wives who are the prophetic voice for their husbands who hold the headship role of the family; the leader of the company wherein the Christian is employed, the leaders of nations, schools and communities.

Long before evil becomes known to the average soul, the prophets and prophetess’s have seen it and have discerned the projected path ahead. Now is the time for Spirit led responses, the choice spoken words, the prayer to change destinies. Instead of cursing, accusing and biting with your words, turn your revelation out for good. Now is time for the prophets to come out of the pit and make straight the paths of those God has yoked you together with.

Lest the word spoke by Jeremiah 23:15 comes to pass; Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.

True Leadership

leadership

In the absence of Holy Spirit authority, carnal or demon inspired power will be exerted over you or through you. If you or the person exercising authority over you is not Spirit filled others will be in affliction, either continually or in part.

We are all in authority to some degree, be it over family members,friends, colleagues, companies, clubs, teams or even ourselves; we all exercise authority either continually or intermittently. But being in authority has a price and the devil will always seek to gain control over and work through those with the most authority, as this is also the route to the most damage. James 3:1-2 My brethren, be not many masters, knowing that we shall receive the greater condemnation.For in many things we offend all..

So what are the traits of Spirit filled leadership? Christ was the ultimate role model when it comes to leading people and it is worthwhile studying his actions..

Jesus prayed for others, the decisions he was to make and the people he needed to appoint. The people he chose to start the Church had something unseen that was relevant for the task at hand and only prayer reveals and opens us to those qualities. In any decision about appointing people to positions or roles within a company, team, organisation or family one should always prayer seek God’s guidance. Even then we may sometimes appeared to have made a bad choice, as Jesus chose Judas, but there is always a lesson or purpose in these seemingly ‘wrong’ selections. In these instances we may grow as leaders or others may benefit from the selection, but God has a plan for every decision made in prayer.

Jesus was not a respecter of persons. He did not favour the wealthiest, smartest most experienced or most respected, but he chose those that had character and the ability to rise to the occasion. Opting for experience above other factors may appear to be a smart move but the person may have carried out the same job very badly all their life and not been an asset to any employee. Better to find those with more valuable qualities – integrity, honesty, hardworking, non prejudicial, self motivated etc. These traits are very hard to develop in people, whereas information and work skills can readily be taught. And although the mavericks are hard work, as King David found out, they are also the people that add an extra passion and ingenuity to the tasks at hand. They are not ‘yes people’that offer little; they are zealous, they have opinions, they challenge, they make a difference.

If a leader is not insecure he/she can get the best out of a zealous Peter or radical Paul, both of whom played pivotal roles in the growth of the early Church. Weak leadership on the other hand is always threatened by those exercising a different viewpoint, which ultimately leads to conflict and can lead to breakdown in families or good employees leaving company’s. The clearest sign of weak leadership in a company is high turnover of employees. The damage of this kind of authority in incalculable. People are afraid to voice an opinion, add value or contribute for fear of reprisal and they ultimately leave. Unfortunately many company leaders with these weaknesses employ like minded people which leads to a culture being established. Likewise parents who are unable to let their children grow into adults making and learning from their own decisions end up with children who are demotivated, rebellious and unable to stand on their own feet. The true skill is managing the boundaries whilst allowing the children to mature into their fullest potential.

David was also an amazing leader. He managed to pull together the most unlikely group of rejects and outcasts and turned them into a powerful army. One can only achieve this if you are prepared to lead by example and not expecting more of your team than you would do yourself. This generally comes through empathy for others and is often birthed out of trial. Nothing typifies this more clearly in David than when he pours out the water his soldiers had risked their lives to get him, saying he could not drink that which might have cost the lives of others. The bigger message was sending was that he would not satisfy his thirst whilst his men had nothing to drink. Children, friends and employees identify with servant leadership and will stir them to do anything for you, to follow you along every path. Jesus had the same servant mentality, putting his disciples before himself, even washing their feet. In years to come those disciples would give their lives in return.

The way you treat those under your authority is the same way they(children) will treat you when you are elderly, the same way they(employees) will treat their subordinates and your customers. Choosing to lead by fear last for as long as you are present and has the exact opposite long term effective as that required. As you leave the room so too does their compliance leave. True leadership inspires and lift others up and impact long after the leader has moved on. Those under this authority become disciples and carry out the very things that inspired them. True leaders understand that people thrive and give their best work when they feel valued and respected. One choice word of support can establish loyalty and excellence for life, whereas a word out of season can destroy motivation and enthusiasm.

Never under estimate the power of your words as a leader. Great leaders speak life into those under their authority. They don’t curse or accuse them. They build up and inspire people, they give a vision, they move others on to greatness never feeling threatened by their subsequent success. Many a child is broken down by the harmful words of a parent to such an extend they they have no confidence to achieve anything great. Many sportspeople are destroyed by the destructive words of a delinquent coach and over often a new coach can bring players to great success or even destroy those that were previously ‘superstars.’ And in the workplace many employees never achieve excellence due to a boss that is continually undermining, criticizing and accusing. One study in the USA showing that only 25% of managers are having a positive net influence on the business, with 25% exerting a neutral impact and 50% having an overall negative influence on the performance of the business.

True leadership in a nutshell is this:The ability to identify the strengths and talents of those under your authority, to bring those gifts out into the open to benefit that person and all around them and to focus those gifts and talents on achieving the goals at hand. An inability to do such things contradicts successful leadership and the damage they inflict on others will be evident to all except the person them self. Unfortunately they will continue blaming and getting rid of others without recognizing the impact of their own destructive leadership.

And if you are seeing these destructive elements in your leadership of family, business or social world, repent, draw close to God in prayer and fasting and ask God to make you a leader of value of excellence.It may be a trying process as God breaks down the pride, arrogance and judgment, but the end result will be a blessing to yourself and others.
