Speak Life or Death

The destiny of mankind is shaped by the words of God, the words of the devil or the words of man. Who is determining your destiny?

Our destiny is shaped by what we allow into our soul or our body. The most powerful of influences is the spoken word.. that of God or the devil, manifesting through others or ourselves.

Slave to a Demonic Spirit

Speakers Corner in Hyde Park, London has some interesting voices; they come from all walks of life, all driven to passionately share something that stirs them. One of the regulars is Leo Muhammad. Leo is the London version of Louis Farrakhan; in fact part of the same faith network. I hadn’t heard their doctrine, so adopted an open mind, hoping to discern what motivates their belief system. It wasn’t long before it became evident Leo is motivated by the hurts of the past. Clearly he was subject to some abuse or prejudice which has been internalised and now manifests in what can only be called a general hatred of white people.

After much preaching and condemnation of the evil ‘blue eyes’ (who must one day be judged by the black Muslim), the corruption of the Christian faith (Jesus was a black man) and the uncle Tom’s who were puppets of the white system (from Obama to every successful black sports person), I was allowed a question. “Why do you and all your followers look so miserable and angry if you are free and have the truth?” I asked. “Because we have all had a lot of bad experiences” was the answer. Therein lies the revelation as to what drives them to action…

At some point in their lives, the evil of others, probably white people, had caused a breech in their souls’. In the process they had taken offense and in doing so had yielded to and allowed a demonic spirit to take authority in their lives. When we yield and give authority to a demonic spirit through rejection, bitterness, unforgiveness, hatred, jealousy, anger, covetousness, lust or pride, our thoughts and actions are no longer ours alone.

Those that succumb have a breech, a brokenness, and are as one seeing everything through tinted glasses. What is seen is true to ourselves, but in reality we are blinded to the real truth. We misinterpret the words and actions of others, we become quick to judge and condemn. In truth, the devil is allowed to exert authority to steal, kill, and destroy. This includes our peace, our dreams, our relationships, our health, our God purposed destiny. Out of this arises contradiction and conflict in our reasoning, beliefs and actions. The fruit is there for all to see except ourselves. Cycles of failure, disappointment, broken relationships, sickness and other ills become entrenched, with the only permitted response being to blame or accuse others for our woes.

Jesus, having every right to do so, refused to take offense, even to his death on the cross, saying; “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Matthew 5:38-48 is as much about self-preservation of the soul as it is about being Christ-like:
Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect

In Leo Muhammad’s world, black people are not successful because white people are racist and prejudice against them. And what all black people need is Leo to bring them into the promised land. Forget about all the many black people that have shed the shackles of such mental slavery, who have excelled or believed God for mighty things, trusting that they are unique and have a loving Father in heaven to guide them. Ignore all those who contributed to the betterment of humanity throughout history, even forget that Obama was voted as a president of a white nation… all white people oppress black people. Ignore that Muslims have enslaved black people for centuries before the white man. His enslaved reasoning absolves any black or Muslim person who has carried out any act of evil; they do this only because they were or are under the power of an evil white system.

This is a doctrine that perpetuates slavery, mediocrity, failure and defeat. It allows every disciple of the faith to have an excuse for not excelling or achieving in life. Ignore that black fathers disproportionately abandon their children and partners, that young black men disproportionately embrace gang culture and partake in crime and drugs or that ancestral worship & spiritualism of the forefather’s bears down heavily upon the children…. any such self evaluation towards recovery and restoration is rejected.

From this ideology, there simply is no way to recovery from any failure or bondage. And this is what these servants of the devil love; followers that are in perpetual defeat and in need of a saviour such as themselves. It is no surprise there is so much anger and hatred within these cults; it is essential to maintain control over others and is simply evidence of the devil in authority and at work. It is not just Leo Muhammad; it is evident in all the workers of iniquity of this age; people who enslave others through fear, prejudice, hatred and bitterness. When you hear any preacher blaming or accusing others for your woes, avoid them like the plague. They will keep you enslaved to your afflictions and Lord over you.

Let these opponents of truth and liberty be a personal revelation for each one of us. When we are in bondage because of the afflictions of the past, understand that the level of bondage is directly proportional to how much evil, from others, that we yielded to and internalised. And when God begins our recovery from bondage, defeat and failure He invariably begins and ends with us. What is the state of our heart, what were our responses, what were our utterances and our action during and after those events that led to our bondage. We may be responsible for 1% of the evil in the entire exchange, but God is 100% focused on what we need to renounce, repent of and forgive, before he can bring about any permanent recovery.

Are you cursed?

Are you cursed? Living a life in bondage with recurring cycles of defeat and failure?

God spoke the world into existence.

We are made in His image and as such we have the same capacity to speak things into existence; either blessing or curses. Our blessing or cursing is most powerfully established where we have legitimate right or authority to speak into a situation.

How can we be cursed?

If we;
– Cause offense to others through our words, actions or thoughts (1 Sam 25:31, Matt 5:28)

– Judge others (Luke 6:37, Gal 6:7,Matt 7:1-2)

– Harden our hearts & justify our wrongful actions.(Hos 5:15)

– Curse those that are in covenant with God through faith > those within the Body of Christ. (Gen 12:3, Num 22-23)

– Have ancestors who have engaged in activities that has led to judgement and curses. (Ex 20:5, Deut 5:9, Num 14:18,)

– Have a business, church, home, land or anything where offence has been caused in the past (2 Sam 21:1-9)

– Engage with spiritualists and the occult.(Lev 19:31, 20:6, Deut 18:9-12, Isa 19:3)

– Curse those in legitimate authority over us – Parents, teachers, employers, leaders of our country (Ex 21:17, Lev 20:9 -leads to spiritual death, Eccl 10:20)

– Having occultic and demonic artifacts in your home & business – statues, masks, fetishes. (Deut 7:26, Josh 7)

– Rejecting the word of God (Deut 11:28)

– Idols, dishonoring parents, theft, deception,perverting justice,etc (Deut 27)

– Exercise our will where a legitimate curse has already been proclaimed. ( Josh 6:26, 1 Kings 16:34)

– Do not help in the Lord’s fight against evil. One of the most harshest curses in the Bible is spoken in Judges 5:23.

– In Sexual Immorality- thought or action. (Gen 20:18)

If you are not experiencing any of the below promises it may be time to seek and ask God for revelation as to whether there is any legitimate curse over your life and destiny.

God’s promised blessings
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them

The path of restoration is:
1. Start a fast of 3 days. Seek God and ask Him to bring to mind any situation or curse that may be in place. (without fasting we are often unable to hear God when we are yoked in bondage)
2. Repent of any action, words, thoughts that may have allowed the curse to stick.
3. Renounce those things
4. Ask God to restore and verbally loosen those things that are upon your life. Just as they have been spoken and bound in place through words, so too can you loosen these bondage’s through your spoken words and your prophecies of liberty and freedom.
5. Resist the devil’s attempts to convince you that you are still bound and avoid situations where these curses can legitimately be re-established against you.

Spirit of Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him

2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Fear and faith are opposites, intangibles, that project into the future. They have no power until we receive them, submit to them and act upon them. We cannot submit to both at the same time, only one can exercise authority in us at any given time. When faced with any crises, trials or hardships, both God and the devil are going to attempt to draw us in a direction; through our thoughts or through others.

The devils modus operandi is fear; a spirit of fear that comes to tempt us and lead us to take a course of action that gives him more authority in our life. When we are facing a very important decision or dealing with an event, the Spirit of fear will come; and if we yield to it, we will be afflicted with torment and worry; and if we yield more fully it can affect our health, lead us to make damaging decisions, even unto death.

The alternate is acting in faith. When we yield to faith in God,
– we gain a sense of empowerment through God (an acceptance that when we are weak, He is strong, leading us and in control);
– we allow the presence of God to enter into our hearts through our yielding to His leading; and
– we have peace. Peace is always a by product of the presence of God’s love.

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

The real and only battle we face is choosing which vision of the future we are going to yield and submit ourselves to. Will it be to that of the demon of fear or will it be to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. Truth is, what we choose to yield to is decided long before we face a crisis or a decision. We will yield to that spirit which we yield to in our daily, routine lives.

The more time we spend with God, the more likely we are to hear and yield to the Holy Spirit. The more time we listen to the evil of this world, to the media, to the spirit of this age, the more likely we will to yield to them in a time of crisis.

And once we yield to the spirit of fear, it will pursue and oppress us all the days of our life without relent. There is no mercy; we either get used to the torment, submit ourselves to mind numbing medication or alcohol or we turn to God. When we fully submit to God;

Isaiah 14:3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

But it takes faith to yield to God, and faith only comes from hearing the Word; either reading the written word or receiving a word of conviction from the Holy Spirit. Without this, it is impossible to act in faith, because it is contrary to the ways of this world in which we live.

If you find yourself in a place of affliction, trial and hardship, realize it is not the will of God. God’s plans is to bless us, give us abundant life… but we have to walk in faith and submit to the leading of the Holy Spirit to receive this.

Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Start each day reading the world of God; spend regular time in prayer and praise; cut out the evil of this world and you will start to hear from God. Slowly as a plant begins to grow after being watered, so your soul will become more open and receptive to the Lord as you water it with time in His presence. As you do, faith will begin to arise and you will start to think and make decisions of faith, which oppose the spirit of fear.

Be consistent, be persistent, fast and dedicate 1 day a week for a closer walk. You will be changed from within and fear will have no part of you life or your destiny.

Maturing in Christ

As a parent we recognize the various stages of life our children go through. First their is the newborn, totally dependent on us, then the young child, filled with passion and enthusiasm. After that comes the older child, a bit more externally focused but still keen to please parents.

Then out of the blue, as the child becomes a young adult with ideas and passions, the rebelliousĀ teenage years. As young adults they begin to settle down and find their purpose and passion in life. After that children and their most productive years. Thereafter middle age and grand-parenting and finally the later years with rest from labor and striving.

There is the same cycle as a Christian. We are born again, of Spirit, and filled with the revelation of a whole new dimension, new thought processes, new perspective and revelations. At first we know nothing but are caught up in the Spirit. Everything is new and exciting. We attend church regularly, partake of as many activities as we can, receiving blessing after blessing. Many Christians live for this feeling alone and fall away when the season of young love begins to pass. They never move on from self focus and being fed to wanting to do something for others. Their faith is stifled because it never translates into outward action.

Others press in and as their understanding increases they begin to share their experiences and to evangelize those around them. With faith in action, gifts start to mature and with that comes the discernment of things never noticed before in the church… the carnal, the unrighteous and even evil intent of those that linger within Christianity. There is the crusty and cynical older brethren (who have done it and seen it and invariably know it all), the so called prophet’s and prophetess’s (whose sole purpose seems to curse others, especially the church leadership, under the guise of discernment), the self promoting ‘movers and shakers’ whose intent is to get into position’s of influence and leadership through their natural wealth or skills and then those that just have evil intent to break down the church and others in some way.

It’s a dangerous season because the devil also starts to take notice of you and will move others against you or will attempt to use your immaturity and work through you, against others. (Never forget, making mistakes is part of maturing spiritually). If your church leaders are mature they will be able to channel your passion and emerging gifts and discernment, help you realize your calling and direct you forward, so as to be an asset to the church and the Body of Christ. If however, as is often the case, they rise up against you or take offense because of their own carnality, they will marginalize or rebuke you in some way which will cause pain.

At this point one can humble oneself and repent before the leadership or leave and find another fellowship that can hopefully harness for good that which God is doing in or revealing to you. Sadly most church leaders only recognize their own authority and ministry as God’s authority in the church and they suppress any other gifts or ministry, which is considered a threat. For this reason there are very few active prophets and apostles, few evangelists and fewer teachers and why church’s never move in real power.

Many will leave and wander from church to church become increasingly discontent, feeling they know more than church leaders. The offense is realized when they begin to speak against the church leaders, which is in fact cursing and in so doing become a tool of the devil (like a rebellious teenager, they exercise spiritual rebellion) Others will simply withdraw from contributing and become pew warmers. Many, many Christians don’t move on from this place; they just stop maturing and and that is where their faith remains. They never move on to the fullness of their calling in Christ. God is not really interested if you are correct at this time, He is interested in how you respond to the situation when others reject your discernment or gifting? The response should be humbling oneself, intercession for that leadership, finding small ways to impact lives outside of the church and maturing their gifts further. In due season God will raise up those that are humble and patient. If one can just hold on, be submissive in spite of the rebuke or offense, God can turn it out for good for all – even for the carnal leadership.

Beyond this is the stage of blessing and increase. Christians who have become humble, who do not take offense on behalf of the Cross, who do not judge others but are rather a blessing in the face adversity, have learnt to wait on the Lord to move instead of acting and expecting God to follow…. these are mature Christians who can receive favor, increase, authority and position without being corrupted, without lifting up the self.

There are so few current Church leaders, especially those within the latest response to God’s outpouring (the Charismatics) that have reached this station of authority by going through this ‘4 soils’ schooling of the Holy Spirit . They have short circuited this process in some way and the evidence is clear for all to see. The leadership is in many ways an offense to God.

Thankfully God has been preparing the leadership for the next revival that is coming soon. They have been refined, rejected and have wandered through the desert without purpose or direction. The time is coming soon for these leaders to rise out up out of obscurity and bring forth the greatest revival since the days of the apostles. Their only danger is that of pride. Pride that might come through such great manifestations of the Holy Spirit. I hope not.

And here’s hoping those that have led the previous responses to God’s outpouring will become intercessors for the work instead of judges and accusers as has always happened in the past.
